What a ride, and a National Final! The diversity that the Red Bull Dance Your Style Contest brings to the stage every time made each round truly unique. House, Hip-Hop, Krump, Afro, Waacking, Experimental, Popping, and All Style came together to shake the Tempodrom in Berlin to its core. The vibe? Unmatched! The dancers brought their A-game, leaving everything on the floor – everybody could feel the energy radiating to the back rows in the Tempodrom during the Red Bull Dance Your Style Berlin Finals.
But let’s rewind to the night before the epic Dance Your Style Berlin battle. Red Bull kicked things off with a vibrant “warm-up” event on the Tempodrom’s rooftop terrace. With mouthwatering food and fresh fruit on hand, old friends reunited while new connections were made. The atmosphere was electric, and by the end of the evening, the terrace transformed into an impromptu battle zone – a thrilling preview of the energy and talent that was about to unfold. It already showed impressively where the ride would go.
The next day, our ride took us to the water. After a laid-back brunch that brought the crew closer together, it was time to hit the pedal boats—aka, “battle boats.” With 40°C heat blazing, a wild sea battle broke out—well, actually a Spree fight (shoutout to Berlin’s iconic river). Armed with water guns, the crew kicked off the first showdown of the day, showcasing not just mad talent but also the dope energy of the freestyle (and free soul) community.
The water party showed what it was really all about—no true battles, but pure, endless fun together…
… enjoying the sun and Berlin’s crazy vibes.
From the river, it was back to the Tempodrom. Even outside the venue, Red Bull and its partners, like Casetify and Jeep, hyped the crowd with entertainment and good vibes. The anticipation was building by the second until finally—it was time. The Red Bull Dance Your Style Berlin Finals were ready to pop off.

THE SHOW ACT
But that’s not enough. The show acts like LUWAM & FRIENDS also brought the house to a boil.
The Unseen Dance: The Story of Luwam Russo
Luwam Russo, known for her graceful fluidity and raw emotion, had always danced like no one was watching. Growing up in a small city, she often practiced in her room, letting the music take over her body, transporting her to a world where nothing else mattered. Her heart moved with the beats, but it was her soul that guided each step.
One day, while scrolling through her Instagram feed, she came across a post that would change everything: a dance battle competition being held by one of the top dance crews in Berlin. A spark lit in her. This could be her moment, her chance to show the world what her body had been telling her all along. But doubt crept in. She’d never performed on a stage as big as this.
She had only danced for herself—what if others didn’t get it? Luwam decided to enter, not to win, but to express something deep inside her that had always been begging to be seen. With her friends, she began to blend genres onstage—contemporary, hip-hop, and even classical influences—finding her voice in the dance theater. With her friends, she told their story, and they were determined that no one would tell them to stop.
Among Luwam*s friends were Kanessa Aguilar Rodriguez, Kwame Osei, V.E.H.B.I., Majid Kessab, Eligomez, Mayumi Loredo, George Buscu, Mohammed Dumaz, Sanam Singh, and Alice. Another breathtaking dancer of the group was Pantea Nekueinia. Therefore, we would love to introduce her in a special report.
