Day 3 unfolds with a powerful journey through time—one that shows how even the darkest chapters of history can give birth to hope, friendship, and unity.
Emilie kicks off the morning across from the chic Solar Restaurant, standing among the haunting ruins of the Anhalter Bahnhof. Once one of Berlin’s grandest train stations, today only fragments remain—a gateway to memory and reflection. It’s a quiet, moving reminder of how much the city has lost… and rebuilt.
HISTORY OF AVIATION & RAILWAY
From there, the girls dive into the German Museum of Technology, one of Berlin’s true cultural gems. Here, they’re not just spectators—they climb into vintage locomotives, explore first-class wagons from a golden age of travel, and get a taste of a time when journeys weren’t rushed but romantic. Speed wasn’t everything—style and comfort ruled the rails.
Upstairs, the story continues—this time, in the air. Among beautifully preserved aircraft, the friends explore the history of aviation, gearing up for a visit to one of Berlin’s most iconic and emotionally charged landmarks: Tempelhof Airport.
Today, Tempelhof is a hotspot for locals—families picnicking, friends skating, artists filming reels under the sun. But its past tells a deeper story. In 1948–49, during the Berlin Blockade, this airfield became a lifeline. West Berlin was completely cut off by the Soviet Union—no food, no fuel, no way out.
That’s when former enemies, just three years after World War II ended, came together. American pilots risked their lives to fly in supplies. The Berlin Airlift was born—an act of solidarity that saved a city and laid the groundwork for new alliances. Some gave their lives for people who had once been on the other side of a battlefield. The girls are moved by the selflessness and courage—and vow never to let stories like these fade from memory.
Their visit isn’t just about the past. It’s an adventure. Tempelhof remains one of the largest buildings in the world, and the friends explore every corner—from the vast underground catacombs to the rooftop, where the sky over Berlin casts its spell—bathing them in the magic of a breathtaking sunset.
In the end, there’s a lingering sense of Hollywood in the air—not because of our own production, but because today took us to a place where blockbusters have been filmed. We stood where Jennifer Lawrence shot scenes for The Hunger Games, where Tom Cruise made Valkyrie, where Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg brought Bridge of Spies to life, where Matt Damon ran through Jason Bourne, and where Avengers: Civil War took over the streets. An exciting day comes to a close.
