It’s not just German politics that’s facing a massive crisis—German film and TV are in trouble too. Instead of receiving the funding they need, support is being slashed or even withheld. And that’s even though German productions and actors have what it takes to make it big internationally. Just look at actors like Harriet Herbig-Matten and the hit series Maxton Hall.
FINAL CLAPBOARD FOR MAXTON HALL
The final clapboard has just dropped for Ruby, James & Co., with Prime Video confirming that filming for the second season of the global hit Maxton Hall – The World Between Us has wrapped. The first season of this UFA Fiction production was Prime Video’s most-watched international original series in its history, topping the Prime Video charts in over 120 countries. The second season is based on Save You, the second book in Mona Kasten’s bestselling series published by LYX.
what’s next at Maxton Hall Private College:
The higher you fly, the harder you fall… After a passionate night together in Oxford and her life goals within reach, everything seems perfect for Ruby (played by Harriet Herbig-Matten). But a family tragedy in James’ (Damian Hardung) life changes everything, and it’s James himself who brings Ruby crashing back down to reality.
Heartbroken, Ruby feels emotions for James that she’s never felt for anyone else—and she’s never been this hurt before. She wants her old life back, a life where no one at Maxton Hall knew her, and she wasn’t part of her elite classmates’ world. But she can’t forget James—especially since he’s doing everything he can to win her back.
Season two brings back not only Damian Hardung and Harriet Herbig-Matten but also Sonja Weißer as Lydia, Ben Felipe as Cyril, Fedja van Huêt as Mortimer, Runa Greiner as Ember, Justus Riesner as Alistair, Andrea Guo as Lin, Frederic Balonier as Kieran, and Eli Riccardi as Elaine.
Directed again by Martin Schreier (Traumfabrik), the new season is produced by Markus Brunnemann and Ceylan Yildirim, who also serves as head writers. Valentin Debler is returning as producer, and the series is funded by the German Motion Picture Fund (GMPF).
