Wet Leg, the five-piece band from the Isle of Wight—led by Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers—just dropped some major news: their highly anticipated second album, Moisturizer, arrives on July 11!
With Ellis Durand (bass), Henry Holmes (drums), and Joshua Mobaraki (guitar, synths) backing them up, Wet Leg have crafted an album that’s like a wild, electrifying storm—unfiltered, playful, and totally addictive.
After years of relentless touring, they’ve become an absolute powerhouse, and it shows. Sharper, bolder, and messy—this album blends feverish love songs with ice-cold breakup anthems, served by the quirkiest darlings of the UK music scene.
An Album Born on the Road
Wet Leg actually started working on Moisturizer before their debut album was even released. While touring the world, they transformed into an unstoppable live band, racking up some serious wins: a UK #1 album, three Grammys, two Brit Awards, and over half a billion streams.
When faced with the classic choice—Do we go full popstar, or just keep following our instincts?—they didn’t even hesitate. They teamed up with producer Dan Carey once again and locked themselves away in Southwold in March 2024. Days were spent writing, nights were for horror movies, and something magical happened—a new, almost telepathic band dynamic emerged.
In the end, all five members had a hand in writing moisturizer. We just had fun experimenting, says Chambers. The only real question was: Will this be fun to play live? Teasdale adds. And that’s exactly why this album had to be made together.
Wet Leg catch these fists
Along with the album announcement, Wet Leg also dropped the first single: catch these fists—an explosive, in-your-face dance-punk banger. From the first second, it goes full throttle: pounding bass, screaming synths, thunderous drums, and Teasdale delivering razor-sharp lyrics with effortless cool. The music video? Shot by the band themselves on their home turf, inspired by Ti West, Cameron Crowe, and their own Wet Dream video. Welcome to the bizarre world of Moisturizer valley.
Love, Chaos, and Pure Euphoria
Like much of the album, catch these fists was inspired by a real-life moment—this time, an unpleasant run-in with an aggressive guy (and the final verse makes that crystal clear). But Moisturizer isn’t just about men who need to disappear—though mangetout’s chorus (get lost forever) might as well be the musical version of Nicole Kidman’s legendary divorce photo.
No, this album is, above all, a fearless, messy, intoxicating love letter. DEEP! IN! LOVE!!!! the band screams in pond song. Moisturizer dives into love in all its forms—overwhelming, obsessive, totally euphoric, ridiculously horny, heartbreakingly sweet, and completely unpredictable.
Wet Leg Are Turning It Up to 100
Teasdale once swore off love songs—but now, Moisturizer is a full-on celebration of unfiltered emotion. Even the album cover makes a statement: Chambers and Teasdale rocking freakishly long claws, Teasdale in kitschy knee socks with zero eyebrows, flashing a cheeky grin at the camera. The message? This time, there are no rules. Louder, bolder, and unapologetically Wet Leg.
