British alt-rock trailblazers Wolf Alice return this Friday with their brand-new single Bloom Baby Bloom—the first release under their new global deal with Sony Music. Written in the hauntingly beautiful landscapes of Seven Sisters and recorded in Los Angeles with Grammy-winning super-producer Greg Kurstin, the track signals the start of an electrifying new era for the band.

This time, I wanted a proper rock song—something performance-driven, something you can feel, says Ellie Rowsell, the band’s powerhouse frontwoman. I wanted to sing like Axl Rose, but sing about being a woman.
From their early days as a fearless quartet from North London, Wolf Alice have always been a mirror to their generation. Their 2015 debut My Love Is Cool gave us raw vulnerability wrapped in euphoric energy—most notably with the Grammy-nominated anthem “Moaning Lisa Smile.”
Their second album Visions of a Life didn’t just meet expectations, it crushed them—earning the Mercury Prize and cementing their place among Britain’s modern greats. Then came Blue Weekend (2022), a softer, aching chronicle of love, change, and adulthood that earned them a BRIT Award for Best Group.
Ellie Rowsell has emerged as one of the most captivating storytellers in modern rock.
Through it all, Ellie Rowsell has emerged as one of the most captivating storytellers in modern rock. Her lyrics explore the trials and triumphs of your twenties—the heartbreaks, the self-discovery, the bruises that shape you. And yet, her delivery remains tender, fierce, and always unapologetically real.

Wolf Alice have toured the globe, sold out shows on both sides of the Atlantic, played every major festival you can name, and shared stages with icons like the Foo Fighters and Harry Styles. But “Bloom Baby Bloom” is something different. It’s not just a comeback—it’s a rebirth.
This summer kicks off in full bloom as they hit the stage at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, followed by a prime-time slot at the legendary Glastonbury Festival. The message is clear: Wolf Alice are back, louder, bolder, and more fearless than ever.
