The time has come. Christmas is around the corner. And it has now been 180 years since Charles Dickens published his A Christmas Carol. Probably every child knows the story of the greedy and heartless Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by a ghost and the Spirits of Christmas, Past, Present, and Yet to Come.
In 1988, Paramount brought this story to screens in a modern form. Instead of Scrooge, we see Bill Murray as the ruthless businessman Frank Cross.
He plays mean things with his subordinates. But of course, when Bill Murray is in a role like this, we’ll inevitably be grinning the whole time. His cynicism and actions are too funny.
Karen Allen, who we know from Indiana Jones, stars as Claire, Frank’s ex-girlfriend. But she also has little chance of influencing the cold-hearted man.
Frank’s assistant also has little opportunity to bring her boss to his senses. She also has to worry about her little son, who just doesn’t want to talk. Grace is played by Alfre Woodard.
Scrooged covers all facets of a good film. The story and actors make us laugh in one moment and cry in the next. With a lot of warmth, a cold person is brought back into society, and at the end, a message is given that inevitably makes the film one of the must-sees at Christmas time.
You can win it now. Just answer the question (until December 28).
